someone, roomkey 361
The room keys for someone, kyoto were crafted as embroidered patches featuring paper-cut artwork motifs by graphic designer Ikki Kobayashi, along with the logo for each respective room name.
There is a sense of nostalgia to embroidered patches. The kindergarten bag or gym uniform you carried as a child, or a souvenir bought on a trip—for reasons hard to explain, we somehow grow fondly attached to these tiny embroidered marks. When we think of travel memories, we tend to try to bring home something extra special. In reality, though, it feels like the small, everyday items you lay eyes on time and again are often the ones that linger in your memory longest. If you happen to like it, we would love for you to attach it to your own house key. We would be delighted if, every time you open your front door, it brings back a gentle memory of the time spent in this room and the sceneries of Kyoto.
