Travel isn’t always about chasing far-off horizons. Sometimes, it’s about gently sliding into someone else’s everyday life—one that exists in the very same world, perhaps just a stone’s throw away.
「someone, 」 is a hotel brand designed for trying on a "what-if" lifestyle. Much like crashing at the home of a friend who knows how to charm their way through local life, you’ll stay in rooms shaped by distinct obsessions and philosophies, discovering comforts you never knew you needed. That single night might just nudge your own daily routine, offering a fresh perspective or a new set of choices.
At 「someone, kyoto」, each guest room is given its own name and motif.
For this project, approximately 200 original paper-cut motifs were created, from which motifs were carefully selected to match each room and item. Like a paper cutout shaped from a single square sheet, this hotel is also composed of collected fragments—of the passions, preferences, and everyday habits of someone living in Kyoto.

What you’ll find here is more than just a hotel room. Each room is a small glimpse into the life of someone who lives, works, and creates in Kyoto—a space shaped by their values, habits, and personal obsessions.
To stay here is to spend a night in someone else’s room. Along the way, you may discover new comforts, unexpected preferences, or even parts of yourself that had gone unnoticed.

🚶 About a 12-minute walk from Kyoto Station
Exit Kyoto Station via the Hachijo Exit and walk straight south along Karasuma Street, heading away from the station. Continue past the Kujo Karasuma intersection (near Kujo Subway Station). After crossing the intersection, turn left at the corner with the butcher shop on your left, and the hotel will be a short walk ahead.
🚕 About a 4-minute taxi ride from Kyoto Station
If you are traveling with large luggage, we recommend taking a taxi. Taxis are readily available at the taxi stand outside the Hachijo Exit of Kyoto Station.
Please tell the driver: "Higashikujo Minami-Karasuma-cho, just south of the Kujo Karasuma intersection on Karasuma Street."
🚇 About a 4-minute walk from Kujo Station (Karasuma Subway Line)
This is the most convenient route to the hotel. Take the Karasuma Subway Line one stop south from Kyoto Station and get off at Kujo Station. Exit through Exit 3 and head up to street level.
Once outside, walk south along Karasuma Street, with the large Kujo Street intersection behind you. Continue straight for about 3–4 minutes, then turn left at the corner with the butcher shop on your left. The hotel is just a short walk ahead.
